Fountain of the Eight Pipes

Public fountain for the inhabitants of the Padre Jesús neighborhood. It is a source full of typicality and history, since generations of Ronda people have drunk from it, and in its piles you can see the wear caused by the jugs when they were filled by the neighbors who later transported them to their houses on top of their heads, in the Moorish style, with the “rohete” (a kind of pad that was placed on top of the head and served to pose and hold the base of the container), and two other smaller pitchers, each one under the arm. Strong and robust women were the rondeñas of that time. It was built in the time of Carlos III and in the pediment is one of the oldest coats of arms that are preserved in our city. In the front part the eight pipes are installed and in the back part a running trough, where the caballerias drank.
