Minaret of San Sebastián

It is the only thing that remains of an old mosque, which was converted into a church after the Castilian conquest, under the dedication of one of the collations that were created by the Catholic Monarchs, that of San Sebastián. It dates from the 14th century, from the Nasrid period, where ornamental remains of Nasrid and Mudejar style can be observed.

It is made up of three bodies: the lower one of stone ashlars with a beautiful door with a horseshoe arch, with a raised alfiz and a lintel decorated with stone ties and green glazed ceramic remains. The part of the center is built of exposed brick, with decorative lowered holes, where there are two windows with a horseshoe arch on each side, above these holes the brick intertwines forming another decorative body. The upper part is from the Christian era, where the bell tower is located, covered with a graceful Mudejar hipped roof.
