Monument to the Virgen del Rocío

With the erection of this precious Monument to the Virgen del Rocío by her Brotherhood of Ronda and the City Council, a roundabout has been recovered for it, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful corners of Ronda, with views of the basin of the Tagus and to the west of the mountains where you can contemplate one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. It is a bronze image of the Virgin of Andalusia dressed as a queen, an exact reproduction of the one existing in the village of Rociera, made with great skill by the Sevillian sculptor Francisco Parra, on a pedestal of Ronda stone in its upper and lower part. and the body of bricks seen with four bronze medallions that represent the coat of arms of Ronda, the Medal of the Brotherhood of Rocío de Ronda, the coat of arms of the Association of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of our city and the Coat of Arms of the Parroquia de Santa María la Higher. The enclosure is bounded with a graceful gate and on the columns of the balcony there are ceramic tiles with the Simpecados of some brotherhoods of Rocieras in Spain and the World that collaborated to pay for the monument. It is a place very visited by the people of Ronda and devotees of the Virgin, where there is never a lack of flowers and candles as a testimony of hundreds of prayers.
